Oh My Chinese Blood

I realise that as I grow older, get more exposed to people and things, I start to despise my chinese blood many a times. I dislike the traditional chinese culture that I live in and I dislike the way we chinese look at things.

I hated the way I was brought up. Traditional chinese parents never understood the importance of communication with their kids. They thought that they could control or change their kids to be obedient to them thru pain by spanking and the canes. However, times have changed, today when the kids are being spank, they just turn more rebellious.

Another thing that Chinese are not very open to are disease.
In Singapore, many patients do not dare to admit their illness in fear that they will be octrasize or mock at. For example, if anyone blog that she is anorexic or bullimic, I guess that she will be the hot topic of her friends and probably some will even despise her. But little did they know that this is the time when their dearest friend needs help and support. They may not need it physically, but they definately need it mentally. They dont need anyone to tell them they are sick because they know it, they need people to tell them they are beautiful as who they are.
AIDS is another big problem. Well, the men who sleep around of cause deserve to be procrastinated. But what about that innocent wife who got the disease from her husband by making love with him the night after he slept with some prostitute? She definately doesnt deserve the procrastination from the society, instead what she needs it support from friends and family members to go thru the last days of her life.

Typical chinese girls are very lousy when it comes to relationship. They fall in love so easily and they usually choose the guy over their close friends. And when the BGR ended, they realised they lose everything. They never know how to treasure and they just allow their emotions to control them.

Singaporeans also unknowingly gives the wrong attention to the handicaps (excluding temporary and senior citizens). The beggars at underground tunnels exist because people still donate money to them. By not donating, we are actually telling them that "hey, this is not working, get ur ass up and get a job!". Most of the handicaps have the mentality that they are handicapped, but society should help them to regain their self-confidence instead. Many have did it, so why not? I guess for myself, I will never sympatise for a handicapped person. I rather let the person learn things the hard way than to never learn at all. And probably I will never help a handicapped person to push his/her wheelchair on the streets because they got to learn to cope with their daily lifes. Hunks are exceptional but its like one in a billion times pls.

There's still like thousands other thoughts swimming in my brain but I'm just to lazy to type them out. Some other time maybe.

MY CHINESE BLOOD..
